circumlocutor to KAC: mea culpa à la mode

Every once in a (blue) moon, I like to pull “fancy” foreign words out of “the box” and float them around like a “hot shot.” I’ve been known to drop a few au gratin(s), à la mode(s) and bologna(s) here and there (once in a blue moon). Well, folks, the moon is looking pretty damn blue (today) because circumlocutor is typing the words “mea” and “culpa”.

(A couple) weeks ago, I wrote a post that suggested certain local bloggers visit the Betty Ford Clinic…a recommendation based on the (seemingly) bottomless martini glasses from which certain blogging females (presumably) constantly sip. The direct target of the post was Kelly Ann Collins (KAC), who had—three hours earlier—written about cocktails at DC hotel lounges for DC Style magazine.

Unlike (many) members of the human species, circumlocutor does not rationalize (his) flawed execution & behavior with pigheaded (disprovable) logic. I accept the fact KAC was grossly overused (by circumlocutor) as the target in said post. The ire flowing from fingers was generated by multiple bloggers whose blogs I kept (and keep) accidentally stumbling upon while looking for quotes and links to use on circumlocutor. These bloggers (not including KAC) incessantly inscribe lines like “OMG I am still drunk…”

Furthermore, circumlocutor has (secretly) found himself reading KAC’s blog for the last two weeks. A post entitled Breathalyze Me caused circumlocutor to tell 9-14 friends and coworkers about breathalyzer-equipped cell phones (thanks KAC for the conversation piece). Today, KAC posted Worst D.C. Nightclubs, which made me laugh (in enjoyment) because both Cloud (trashed in a previous circumlocutor post) and ESL (always trying tooooooo hard to be hip yet not hip, and—sorry—Thievery Corporation puts me TO SLEEP) were on the Worst DC Nightclub list.

There it is, folks....the proof that circumlocutor is not just another Angry Gay Man…and (that) he knows how to type mea culpa à la mode.

I, too, find that self deprecation somehow works in the 'sphere. Good for you for turning around on this one.
